7. Corb Lund

LOL, don't know why but I thought they were the Hansen Brothers and I couldn't figure out how some of you were saying they weren't a Boy Band and that they were still relevant  ;D

I like the thinking in that it should be a Canadian band, so many great ones
Agree with above, Headstones would be awesome.

2. Neil Young with Crazy Horse

A BIG HELL NO TO THIS ONE! Don't waste your dreams on that one. Saw Neil and Crazy Horse about 12-13  years ago in Calgary on FREE TICKETS at the Saddledome. WORST CONCERT I HAVE ever been to in my life! This is nit picking, it was plain terrible. The warm up act of Los Lobos was much more fun! Neil was  just going through the motions. Washed up or burnt out, maybe both. Doing a guitar duel for like 10-15 minutes. A total bore. Was with one of my best friends in life who knows how to play guitar fairly well and was in some local bands in Winnipeg when we were younger (university age). Even he agreed it was BAD! SO A BIG NO to this one. Love Neil's classic rock stuff, but the concert I went to he maybe did one of the old rockers. All the rest obscure stuff he did with Crazy Horse.....more like CRAZY TRAIN BY OZZY was so bad! :D  If he stuck to the old rockers maybe would have been an OK concert.

Give me AC/DC, Rammstein, U2, Scorpions, Cheap Trick....extremely unlikely!! :D Def Leppard still playing last I knew. I'd say also April Wine or Tragically Hip, but their lead singers have both now passed. Is Trooper still doing the Casino circuit? Maybe getting long in the tooth for those guys.

P.S. Motley Crue and Nickelback headlining two different nights at the Calgary Stampede in July.

I'd be more interested in the Hansen brothers from the Slapshot movie than these lads! ;)

I believe one of these Hansen bro's is married to famous Bollywood actress Pryanka Chopra.

Beaches: shame on some of you; they opened the GC for us in our awesome 2019 day to remember in CGY!  They are actually pretty good with their 80s throwback vibe.

Jonas: I've heard of them, but just barely.  No idea what type of music they do.

But announcing it sooooo far in advance is a brilliant move that gets hype and allows them to build up ticket sales over the entire season!  The last few years of last-minute act signings was really bush league.  I hope WFC takes notice when it's their turn.

So, good on BC, regardless of whether I like the choice or not.  Maybe my son will like them (though he's never heard of them either) if we go, as he ended up liking Green Day (who he also never heard of) and Urban.  (He didn't like the cheesy SSK 2022 acts...)  Anything that helps fill up the stadium for the GC is a good thing.
Never go full Rider!

3. Headstones

The only correct answer right here, although 3 Inches of Blood would also be awesome.  Also, Monster Truck or Danko Jones.

Neil like anyone can have an off night.  To criticize him or the Horse like you have done based on one show is way over the top imho.  Seen both a bunch of times and it was always great.  Also seen him with CSNY and it was great. He is touring now with the Horse and his set lists are great and the shows are getting great reviews.  You plugged Nickleback here, nuff said.  Lol

I got tickets to see Neil and Crazy Horse this summer at the ball park.  I expect an amazing show especially for a band in their late 70s and 80s.

At least we agree on The Hip.  Pass on the rest.  Of course music is based on one's personal choices and I respect that.  Just don't spoke the Horse on my watch.

God father of grunge helped create PJ and they both are as solid an act as there has been ever.  Neil's guitar playing is very strong, not sure about the criticism here.  He likes to jam out.  He is not a greatest hits jukebox and never will be, it's what makes him great and gave him longevity.  I just got a Neil and Crazy Horse live album free with my tickets and it's great.

Too bad they can't put together a Honeydrippers/Wilburys lineup of remaining members of Canadian bands...

Shania Twain was still probably the best half time show...

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

I like Shania

Sir Blue and Gold

Jonas Brothers works. If I were the CFL I'd purposely pick bands that doesn't necessary align with the profile of the average CFL fan. Obviously there's a bit of a sweet spot but the goal is to get as many eyes on parts of the game as possible and fans are already going to watch.
