Bombers using an extra O Lineman a number of times during the Argo Game

Finally rewatched the game and paid attention (one of the few times I can really say so).  Did anyone notice the number of times we used an extra Offensive Lineman? They seemed to always line up on the left side of center hence an unbalanced line and seemed to be there to help out our LT and LG on blocking assignments.

I believe it helped our run game and maybe gave our QB a little more protection from the blind side.

We often run "jumbo" with a 6th OL.  In this case that would be Elsbury.  And sometimes with Daniels as "6th" (TE).  I didn't pay much attention to it in this game (needs rewatching), but using jumbo is perfectly normal for us.

However, we don't always run it on the left, beside Stan.  I wonder if it's hash related?  Or maybe we are finally realizing Stan can't handle things on his own and are giving him help.

Here's a flyer... Isn't Yoshi up for FA this season? Why not make a run at him? Broxton goes left. Yoshi gets us back run domination from the right.

He's a real nasty sob when he's not on your team, but he's still got life and still one of the best.

Absent that, who are the top 3 rt right now? I vastly prefer buying promising established talent over hopes and prayers our PR unknowns will be be top tier.

Love Yoshi, but hell be 37 next season. Let's not compound our existing problems.
My wife is amazing!

We absolutely don't need another old vet. We need to get younger.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Broxton is one of the highest paid D-linemen in the league, I don't know if they can afford another expensive FA Import to replace Stan when they'll have to pay up to retain Wallace to preserve ratio.  I'd be happy with a middle of the road OT like Randolph or Lawton if they can't recruit anyone new.

Wallace is worth league minimum plus the obligatory "you're from Canada" premium. At least in this case he actually is.

He was great when he was here, but he is too old now and honestly he has weak games.  We don't need that. Rider fans complain about him. Like others say, we need to get younger.  He may even retire. He took his hop to our enemy..no thanks.

Yoshi has already stated he wants to return to the Riders next season, he's going to ride the CFL train as long as he can, beats living off mayo and ketchup sandwiches at 350 lbs.

I love this guy - I agree, might not be the best plan for him to return to Wpg at this stage.  I just hope he can move past being an O lineman and not stay at 350 lbs once he is done with playing.  I've seen first-hand a former o-lineman from our team go completely opposite and lose all the extra weight to the point you'd think he was a D-back in his playing days.

I think Yoshi will follow the money, just like he did before. And maybe the winning. Keep in mind ssk is now on the downtrend.

I read the rider forum regularly and I don't recall any complaints about Yoshi. And they sure do complain a lot over there.

As for hoggie weight, it's usually artificially jacked up. Most of them are naturally big people, but not 350 lbs big. They have to do a lot of forced eating off calorie dense foods to keep it up.

Some of them do and some of them don't, Broxton admitted he has to watch his weight and limit what he eats, same with Gabe.  Yoshi's contract with the Bombers stipulated he had to keep his weight below 325 lbs. I believe.

It's usually the smaller frame guys like Kolo and Jake Thomas that had to pig out to keep their weight up.  I noticed Eli seems to have put on a lot of beef from what he was at the start of the season.
