As far as being geriatric....

Michael O'Shea age: 56
Mike Miller    age: 56

Can't see Miller lasting long, screaming at subordinates when under stress is a bad coping mechanism.  Anyone that can will abandon him as soon as the opportunity presents itself, including Kelly.

Quote from: Blue In BC on September 26, 2026, 03:47:24 PMArgos with a 128 yard missed FG return TD and 2 TD's scored on blown assignments. So it flattered the Argos too. Yes they out played us but let's call a spade a spade.
I can remember multiple missed FG TD's, in the last few years alone & tons of blown assignment TD's. 75 yard QB sneaks are as rare as hens teeth.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

The point is, you have a habit of removing a big play from the Bombers and playing the "what if" game, but you never seem to apply it to the other team for some reason.
My wife is amazing!

The actual point is that play was as rare as hens teeth & the others happen pretty regularly. All big plays aren't created equal.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Wow. Miller at 56 looks older than my dad did at 75.  Weird.

The point remains though. Embarrassing to lose to that interim coach and his one trick qb.
Never go full Johnston!

Seem to recall Terry Wilson breaking a SY plunge for a long TD run in a GC game a few years ago, can't remember if it was against the Als or the Argos.

You're saying you kind of remember a few years ago when it happened. That in itself says it doesn't happen very often.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.

Of course it's rare. A team might have 3 or 4 short yardage plays in a game. OTOH they might have 35 pass attempts. A broken play for 75 yards is also rare. Or a 128 yard missed FG return for a TD.

A few times a year <> a few times a decade. Blown coverage TDs are not that rare; they happen every week. FG returns for TDs a couple of times a year. Sneaks for 50+ yard TDs maybe a couple of times a decade, maybe less. That's the failure of your arguement.

according to a google search, Perkin's sneak for a 50+ yd TD run is unprecedented/never happened before. I've been watching since 1974 and I can't recall a run like that. That said, Perkins can really run, he outran the little DB's on the play, hmmmmm, why wouldn't we put him in for a shortage yardage package ie 2nd and 3, and let him run a roll out./boot leg and see what else he can do??!!! The dude's an athlete!!

I commented that the Argos only had the ball for 8 minutes in the 1st half and only 2 1st downs. I think they only had 10 plays on offence and yet scored to 2 TD's and had the missed FG return TD.

That doesn't happen often either. To suggest the score flattered us  is just wrong.  The Argos had 4 big plays which also included the pass by Grant on that last punt return.  It's not about broken coverage scoring but the length of those 2 in particular.

OTOH, IIRC something similar happened against the Als when we gave up 2 quick single play scores while we dominated the TOP in the 1st half.

Rourke had a 70 yard run last year and a 50 yard run in each of the 2 previous years. The 70 yard run did result in a TD. Whether those were actual sneaks or broken run plays IDK. You do see some long sneaks that have scored in recent days.

Tommy Stevens has a 69 yard run in 2022. In 2024 he had an 85 yard run. Both resulted in TD's. He's the SY QB.

More dumb 'arguments'. We owned the first half; they owned the second. We did it with drives; they did it with big plays. Which is exactly the same way they won the week before & the same way that BC often wins.

Long QB runs aren't the same as long QB sneaks, and everyone knows it. Stop pretending that they are. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Not liking my take is fine. Whining about it for days is tedious.

You're funny and still just wrong. My argument was more about the Bombers were not being flattered by the score as you suggested. You even said we scored with drives and they scored with big plays. How does that mean the score flattered the Bombers?

We ran more plays, for more yards. We scored 1st, held the lead at half time and for nearly the entire game. Bombers scored 4 TD's on offence. The Argos scored 2.   That's nothing close to the score flattering the Bombers.

However there are more long QB sneaks than you choose to admit. I gave some examples.

I think you are the one whining. Let the forum decide. Nothing requires you to " continue for days " with the argument if you don't want to.

Your reputation precedes you.

How often do you see a returner make a critical pass the results in another 35 or 40 yards on the return that creates the winning points. I don't remember that happening earlier this year. I'd say the score flattered the Argos on the entirety of the game play.

Unfortunately games are won on how many points are scored not on how.
