Quote from: 3rdand1.5 on August 20, 2026, 05:06:40 PMMaybe next week we try for 12 LB's on the roster......

I know a-lot of this is for special teams and our special teams have been great...but at what cost...from what I can see offence is a .......distant......after thought to specials and defence....

Eli as the only O-line back-up even though he wasn't able to practice and is listed as questionable, oh and Bryant didn't practice most of the week...this seems completely responsible and appropriate, wouldn't want to take a back ups, back-up, back up LB off for some insurance on the O-line, not like O-line is important anyway......

And receiver I see we have one back-up again seems safe.....gotta keep all those LB's ready for youngers rotations.......Clercius can play all positions right, and it's not like Demski has been fighting an ankle injury for weeks now and missed practices again this week and is listed as questionable or anything.... ya IF White (546y/60.7ypg) or Ontario (537/59.7) go down, A group of Neild (312/34.7), a hobbled Demski(563/62.6), Cobb(117/13), Clercius (14/4.7) with the other of White or Ontario, is a......well.....a "great" group....don't focus on stats but think of all those extra CDN snaps we can accumulate... we don't need another receiver for depth....heck a few injuries and Daniels (82/9.1) can play both O-line and WR....

At least with all that depth and rotation we have given Younger his defence has been lights out......

Singer is a carbon copy of Pokey and White just not as good, I hope at some point they start bringing in bigger receivers to the PR they need to offer a changeup, more of the same will not improve the units flexibility or effectiveness.  They need a big physical receiver like Joe Robustelli that can fight for the ball and gain great YAC.

Our roster mgmt once again is true to form, no matter how you play if you're a vet you're on the roster, and if there's an opening we stick in another lb.

Unabashed positron.  Blue koolaid in my fridge.  I wear my blue sunglasses at night.  Homer, d'oh.

To be fair Woodbey and fletcher will play at least half the reps, but that's still the equivalent of 8 cdn starters. Which makes no sense that we are playing 3 cdn receivers when we have the ratio space to not have to do so. That and we are trotting out 2 olinemen that are not healthy enough to practice. Bryant and Eli)

Quote from: Jesse on August 20, 2026, 04:58:00 PMNot to mention Broxton is just getting back from injury and Bryant and Eli haven't been practicing. But do we need an insurance OL? Nope. 10th linebacker.
Quote from: BBRT on August 20, 2026, 04:35:15 PMWhy in the heck do we need yet another LB that will never see the field other than maybe special teams. How about getting in a few reasonable DB's and maybe a Receiver that has a little speed vs what we have. Ugh!!
The roster configuration is brain cramping stupid level.
Season ticket holder since year 1 of the Reinbold era.

Shemar Bridges (6'3"), 2024 East Div All Star, released by Hamilton today after spending most of the season on IR.

Quote from: Throw Long Bannatyne on August 20, 2026, 04:10:50 PMI think that one game they had good attendance against Sask. was an anomaly spurred by the attendance of Rider fans, against the Argos they slumped back to their patheric norm.

Ya, crowd is a non factor. For their ssk game they must have promoted it heavily and or given away a whack load of free tickets. In addition to all the ssk fans driving over.

Attendance is still elevated vs last year, but it won't approach anything like 2 weeks ago. At best it'll be like a bc crowd.

Those Rider fans did not drive to Edmonton from Sask. to watch the game, they are permanent residents of Alberta who fled Sask. at the first opportunity.

What happened to Bridges?? He went from an East Div 1000 yd reciever in 2024, to being released??! Did acquiring Wheatfall result in his release?? Wow.

True. But some must live near the alb border on the yellowhead. That's a very reasonable drive.

The hilarious thing is the two teams split the wins, but each got their win away. Bass ackwards to what would have made the most happy fans.
