Have you looked at the roster lately?  There are so many potential RT's on the roster right now, someone will win out for the PR spot to develop into the next RT.

I still want a guest OLine coach at TC.

Rookie OT becomes a starter?  It's been awhile since that happened.

That's true going into every camp. Doesn't mean any of them turn out to be good.
My wife is amazing!

But it's clear you really want/need a Yoshi-level RT if you want to win GCs, especially if you value your run game.  Vant/Rand/Lofton won't be horrible, but they won't give you the run game you really want to have.

We arguably have a better-than-Yoshi level RT right now!!  And yes, when he eventually moves to LT, he'll be tough to replace... unless we just FA snipe the next Broxton.  Which is fine, because that's what we've always done to get our top OTs (sniped Stan, sniped Yoshi, sniped Broxton).  Lather, rinse, repeat.

I always thought the Bomber running game was led by the OG's, with Neufeld, Gray and Wallace usually the most prominent linemen blocking well down field, even Kola occasionally made it out there. Brady being an inside runner mostly chooses the B-gap they vacated, rarely is he following an OT after initial break through.

We have Big Stan and Broxton starting this year.  The rookie is the OT in waiting.

Since our OL started sucking, I've been rewatching games with just an OL / run game focus.  Trying to see what is going wrong.  I did the same with a lot of SSK games last season (even without us playing).

There are certain tactics the OL will use to effect good run block.  The simple answer to your note is "all the above".  And often it'll be your strongest OL you find a way to move to effect the key blocks.  But you kind of need most/all of the 5 to be winning their blocks to get a good run.

Many teams, including us, will swing around the RT or RG into the A or opposite-A gap to get some confusion going and open holes for the RB.  This is most noticeable when comparing what we did with Lofton or Rand at RT and what we used to do with Yoshi... and what SSK is currently doing with Yoshi.  We didn't swing our mediocre RTs around much at all.  Yoshi is doing that, or edge-sealing for end-runs, or own-gap kick-out basically every running snap.  The result is SSK had a great run game with a middling RB, and we had a middling run game with a great RB.

Broxton should be a mower in the swing-around, and he should be deadly on the edge-contain.  Neuf is still capable.  Eli, if undersized, at least knows the run block game as well as anyone, and he's quick(ish).  Wallace hasn't been as effective as hoped (yet?).  Eli could be a secret weapon (if starting C) for getting the blocks up on the LBers in the flat.  This could allow us to turn any gap-escapes into 3rd level runs vs the usual stuffed-in-the-flat Brady M.O.

Stan, he mostly just sits there in pass pro, and maybe some edge contain on non-Brady fly sweeps -- though strangely we don't attack that side much like other teams do.

If Wallace can't improve his run block road-grading, I'd totally start an IMP LG who can.

Assuming Wallace/Eli start, I'm interested in seeing what Vibert can do as 6th.
