Is he done for the season? We could really use him.

Not done. He is in sweats fielding balls on the sideline. He's close. I think this is why they are trying to find a spot for Vaval.

Toronto has a weird D
They give up alot of points & yards (only better than Edmonton). They give up yards against the run, but 2nd least in the air.
They do have 14 sacks already (2nd best), and 6 forced fumbles. This is going to be key on Saturday.

Biggest knock on him is he can't stay healthy, played most games in his first season in 2022 with Calgary but since then it's been hit or miss. I won't be surprised if they don't extend him when his contract expires.

this game will likely come down to our offensive line giving Zac the time he needs and not abandoning the run game as we have the last few times against the argos.
Hopefully we go with a lot of 6 man lines and even bring in Clercius tight to add to it.
As far as receivers, use them to their strengths ie Case don't try to have him do deep curls hit him quick and on slants to use his speed. Also throw in a couple of pump fakes as dbs are jumping Zacs throws too much.
On defense Arbuckle has shown he can beat a 3 man rush so unless we get more creative with our linebacker blitzes stick to a more traditional front four. And have Parker play a little deeper to help on explosion type plays

I am worried if big Stan can't play as we need someone solid at LT. To counter that, if McManus is out for the Argos, that is huge as that guy is a killer.

big stanley is OUT again :(

No real surprises on the IR report. Bryant was the only one that might have been actually available. Several players are not quite eligible to come off the 6 game IR. A few others: J. Jones, D.Mitchell and Schmekel are all healthy but seem to be persona non gratis.

Didn't notice any comment about Novak so unclear whether he's in or out this week.
One game at a time.

(Logan) Ya, but if you sign a guy who's always injured, pay him $0 bonus, and he's on the 6GIR 2/3rds of the season, who cares?  It costs nothing.  Then you have depth to draw from ("look, he's magically ok now for the post-season!") if/when you need it.

So many teams play this IR game better than we do...

Still haven't heard if it's same-knee or not.  Either way, Schoen may be one of those constant knee problem guys.  As such we can't rely on him as our #1 REC.  And since we let Kenny breeze on out of here without a fight, we basically have no one legit.  Doh!  Nice home-GC year!  At least BC tried, eh?...

I don't mind doing the Logan 6GIR the whole season thing with Schoen, as long as he's not costing us bonus $ we can't claw back.  Need to adjust his contract for '26.

Quote from: Blue In BC on July 24, 2025, 02:51:53 AMMaybe and it's not the best excuse.  I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he'll have learned something over the last 2 weeks.

There is also a coaching strategy at play here since QB's are throwing mostly outside. That's ok if we don't keep jumping routes and learn to tackle better. Our inside secondary are very good and they will look outside by their design and our game plan on defence.

Best HBs in the league don't help as much when teams just throw the wide-out, wide go, and wide screen all night long because we can't stop it...

And Bridges isn't a raw rookie, he has many GP and starts under his belt from '24!  "Learned something" may only be pure hopium.

You can't deny the good OCs/teams are picking on Bridges all the time... They weren't doing that when Ford was in that spot!!
