B.C. Lions rule out Garry Peters against Montreal Alouettes

The B.C. Lions have ruled out defensive back Garry Peters for Saturday's game against the Montreal Alouettes. The team issued its official depth chart on Friday morning.
The 34-year-old was a limited participant in practice this week due to a shoulder injury. He was listed as questionable on the team's injury report on Thursday.
Peters has played 141 career regular-season CFL games, including 122 with the Lions. The Atlanta, Ga. native has recorded 444 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles, six tackles for loss, 70 pass knockdowns, 19 interceptions, two sacks, and three forced fumbles.
The veteran defender will be replaced at boundary cornerback by Stantley Thomas-Oliver, who has made nine starts so far this season. The 28-year-old has recorded 15 defensive tackles, four pass knockdowns, and one interception.
The Lions have made three other changes to their roster, as Shaun Peterson Jr., Ben Hladik, and Christophe Beaulieu will dress in depth roles defensively.
Beaulieu is slated to make his return to the lineup after tearing his ACL in Week 16 of last year. Prior to the injury, he had collected 37 total tackles, one forced fumble, six pass breakups, and two interceptions in 14 games.
In corresponding moves, Lorenzo Mauldin IV (reserve roster), Woodly Appolon (six-game injured list), and Maxime Rouyer (six-game injured list) have come off the active roster.
The B.C. Lions (6-6) will host the Montreal Alouettes (10-2) at BC Place Stadium on Saturday, September 12, with kickoff scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium last week, where the Alouettes won 37-30.
The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in Vancouver, or TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal.

Stevie Scott III returns for Montreal Alouettes in rematch with Lions

The Montreal Alouettes will have a new running back in the backfield for their Week 15 rematch with the B.C. Lions, but it isn't the one most expected.
Stevie Scott III will make his return to the lineup after he was a full participant in practice on Thursday. He has appeared in just one game this season, rushing 10 times for 65 yards in Week 4.
The six-foot-one, 231-pound ball-carrier started the team's last five regular-season games in 2025, rushing 86 times for 418 yards and one touchdown, and making 15 catches for 116 yards. He remained in the starting lineup during the playoffs and had a brilliant performance in the East Semi-Final against Winnipeg, rushing 18 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and making three receptions for 29 yards. After a relatively quiet performance in the East Final, Scott rushed 15 times for 78 yards and one touchdown and caught three passes for 27 yards in the 112th Grey Cup against Saskatchewan.
The move comes after starting running back Travis Theis was placed on the six-game injured list this week. Rookie Shomari Lawrence was named the presumptive starter early in the process, but that changed once Scott proved he was ready to go. The 24-year-old will not dress now.
There will also be significant changes to the personnel paving the way for Scott. Left tackle Nick Callender, the frontrunner for Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, has been ruled out with a back injury after failing to practice this week. He will be replaced by Des Holmes. Fullback David Dallaire will make his return from a knee injury, knocking Marco Dubois out of the lineup, while 2026 first-round pick Rohan Jones will make his CFL debut at tight end.
Defensively, the Alouettes will be without boundary halfback Wesley Sutton (back) and strong-side linebacker Najee Murray (head), neither of whom practiced this week. Faion Hicks, who started four games earlier this season, will fill in for Sutton, while Gemon Green will take over the nickel spot and Don Callis will dress as insurance.
Canadian defensive lineman Lwal Uguak will sit out this week, while American defensive lineman Kylan Guidry has been returned to the practice roster. American linebacker Quinn Urwiler will dress in a depth role.

As much as I want BC to lose, I really want to see Betts smoke Alexander into October. Twice.
Best game of the week so far with arguably the two beat QBs in the CFL.....Montreal won't go away despite being down 8 points at the half. Wild finish to the half!

Alexander has learned his hot head behaviour from Jason Maas, I'm surprised the refs let him have his hissy fits on the field and on the sidelines. Refs have lost control of this game

I think that game is a grey cup preview. Both teams tried to intimidate each other, and neither team budged an inch.

The Refs are taking a lot of abuse from players and coaches sometimes very aggressively getting in their face and generally disrespecting them. They need to throw flags for objectionable conduct more quickly to get this situation back under control.
Games deteriorated badly 5 or 6 years ago when numerous incidents had players physically assaulting officials and animosity was so high a lot of games looked like brawls were about to break out.
