Title: Montreal @ Winnipeg Pre-Game.
Post by: Pigskin on August 23, 2026, 06:08:48 PM
Boy's should be on the field tomorrow. Montreal is the elite team in the CFL right now. No one close to them. Boy's are going to have to play mistake free, and turn the those 3's into 7's, and even at that it's a tall order.

I don't even want to think about this yet.

i don't think we have the horses to win unless montreal plays very very poorly and they suffer an injury to Alexander in the first.

talent, coaching and execution just are not equal between these teams.

maybe we can be close at halftime but realistically we lose by 20+

If they beat us by less than 30 I'd be shocked.

I feel like Alexander and Philpot are going to light us up.

Riders are about to lose to the Lions pushing the Bombers to 4th place.

Next week:

We play the Als, the Stamps play the TiCats, the Riders play the Argos and the Lions play the Redblacks.

That's not a good string of events and we could well be in 5th place by this time next week. AAAARRGGGHHH

Montreal plays too cocky and haven't faced any adversity really this season.  If we can get up early on them we saw in this weeks game they get ugly and take stupid penalties. Montreal is good, but they aren't unbeatable, especially with Alexander and his wonky hamstring if that goes they go.

I feel like last week was the pinnacle of our season.

We came out so strong it was the best I have seen us in a long time, but alas we couldn't maintain it and our weaknesses were exposed. The reason I say that was the pinnacle was the mental beat down the guys endured last week and the newness of the mental loosing at home factor, is IMO too much to overcome.

Couple those mental aspect with the physical aspects and the coordinators flaws along with roster make-up, I see no way we are even competitive in this one.

No obvious evidence of injury and yet not one question regarding his situation today and why Brown was #1.,

Is that Jeff Hamilton asking Condell why the Bombers don't take more deep shots, when it only take a strong armed QB to throw deep, a good O-line to provide him with adequate time and excellent receivers who can win 50/50 balls? Is this reporter lacking the ability of observation or is he still locked in on a narrative that died sometime in 2024 when Zach began racking up record breaking numbers of interceptions?

Hamilton has morphed into a pretty useless beat reported who likes to yuck it up with Hustle while bringing very little in substance.

I thought it was Paul who was the cantankerous one. Which one is Hamilton? The younger sounding voice? Because I thought the older guy was Paul.

Friesen speaks like an old lady and asks cringey questions.

Anyone at practice this week? Who is taking 1st team reps in the secondary with Nichols not practising? Is Kramdi in with 1st team defence?

I'm guessing Collaros had a vet day earlier this week and that they wanted Brown to get some reps in case he needs to play part of the game. I'm not suggesting a 2 QB situation per se, but if Collaros struggles then maybe Brown gets a series or two while he absorbs from the sideline.
