Well, the boys should be back on the field today. We will see if ZC8 is taking snaps. Griffin is a ? We will also see if Broxton is back. Bombers need this win at home.
Just vibes, no information. But it feels like Griffin will be out. I'm hoping Broxton is back. Best case scenario might be that Zach is limited and stays off for the whole 6 games.
I also think the first practice is probably Monday.
I expect Broxton will be back. I have previously suggested that I don't expect Collaros back but he might start some limited practice. That's based on the expectation that Brown can play. If he can't then all bets are off.
There is more to the injury to Collaros than is being let on IMO. I believe cumulative and degenerative issues are involved. I know O'Shea said he didn't expect him to spend the entire 6 games on the IR. I find it difficult to believe his injury reports on anybody.
There is also an SMS ramification which shouldn't be a deciding factor but it's the nature of the SMS.
I'd like to see a healthy Collaros back but I think his health and risk of re-injury is too great. In that sense, I think he should retire. I've lost track of how many times he's been knocked out of games but it doesn't seem to take much to force him out of games.
It's possible we may be in a 3 way tie with Calgary and BC is we win and the Lions defeat the Stamps. If that happens we're in 5th place after losing to each of those teams.

It seems fair to keep Collaros on the 6 game for the entire duration and reap the SMS relief considering they're paying him near $600k and he's missed way too many games to earn that paycheque.
Also puts the burden on Brown to show he's worth investing in after this season, if he can't get it done with the Bombers either, then the search for Zach's replacement must continue until Elgersma is ready to steal the #1 job and run with it.
The bombers are practicing today!
Just a thought. I wonder if Jaworski is the import activated for this game. Another player to rotate on the DL wouldn't be the worst choice. He should be able to pick up what he needs to know quickly and with on field instructions from the others.
I'm not seeing a lot of advantage activating Hazen, Jackson or Jenkins so this is the best time to get Jaworski live reps?
Could be our last chance for a win in 2027 :'(
Looking at the schedule we have a punchers chance when Argo come to town, but other than that, it looks like tough sailing. There usually will be an upset in the CFL somewhere along the way, but I can't see us eaking out more than 2-3 wins.

I hope he plays. I like him but it would take a few games for him to get up to speed.
Broxton and Zach practicing today
Sigh...I want to believe that the team learned a lesson from our last trap game (BC) that can be applied in this one, but I'm not terribly confident in that.
Zach, Broxton, and Lawson are practicing.
Jaworski is here.
Kramdi not dressed, still has his hand/wrist wrapped up.

Griffin in a walking boot.

Sure but he'd still be able to take a few reps spelling the other DL. It's a question of whether that offers more than the other defensive players on our PR. Fresh faces to be able to pressure Maier as much as possible.

Yeah, that was expected about Griffin and unfortunate. Hearing Lawson is practising is a surprise but then we also never heard what his injury was earlier. He's only missed 3 games of his IR stint and I would be surprised to see him activated. OTOH it would beef up our DL choices.
I really didn't expect Collaros to be practising but I commented that might be a forced choice if Brown can't start this week.
Any other players taking 1st team reps as possible changes to the roster? We have to decide on which import to add as a DI. It might be the last chance for Jenkins to grab a spot.
No reports about Brown yet?
I am not surprised ZC8 and Lawson back on the field today. We need Lawson back on our D as Korny and Schmekel have not been very good.

Lawson and Collaros were taking all the starters reps. They both definitely seem like they're coming off early.
Dru was dressed and taking part in drills but took no reps that I saw. Elgersma and Perkins took turns running some scout team reps for the defence.
Woodbey obviously in for a bunch of reps in Griffin's absence.
No changes to offence other than Zach and Broxton coming back in.
Hopefully Broxton is replacing Bryant or will MOS ever pull Bryant?

No, Broxton is obviously back in his RT spot.
Quote from: Blue72 on Today at 07:14:16 PMHopefully Broxton is replacing Bryant or will MOS ever pull Bryant?
MOS will never pull Bryant, its not in his DNA to pull a hall of fame player from the field of play...just like he didn't pull Bighill when he was hurt
Who's taking Bryant's spot even if he were to get pulled? The depth with the O-line at present is laughable.

Vanterpool played a couple of games at LT in 2025 didn't he? The more common idea was to move Broxton to LT and let Vanterpool stay at RT.
Brownie will probably go to the 1 game.

That doesn't really sound like an improvement to me.

In an underperforming defence, I can't really say this is going to be a big step back for us. Woodbey steps in and does the same job.

It doesn't seem informing fans Jaworski was in an off-season traffic accident is giving out too much personal information, instead of announcing that he retired. The Bomber way is to give him a fair shot at stepping in where he left off, it may take a few weeks of conditioning before they give him another look though.

Broxton is a LT by history and we signed him to a big contract. Both QB's were injured from hits coming from the left side.
He was the west division most outstanding OL, in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
