Title: Winnipeg @ Hamilton
Post by: Pigskin on June 27, 2026, 04:24:29 PM
Looks like the boys will have a long weekend to think about all the mistakes they made. Should be back on the field on Tuesday. Right now we have no American DL on the PR. Depending on JC94 injury I would think we are looking at someone. If Pokey is out I would like to see CF84 come off the PR. Like his size, 6'3" 210, he also had a very good TC.

I don't even want to think that long or hard about what will happen to us if we fumble the ball 5 or 6 times again, BLM and Kenny will hang 50 on us

The health of the club is a big concern at OL and DL as these are the pillars of any good team.

Agree bring in a DT if he's out.

Hopefully we can find a solution at OL temporarily until we get healthy.

Losing Pokey was a big deal, 84 vs. 17 what's the thoughts on the comparison between the two?

I don't think Wilson misses any time. Concussion protocol and even Jefferson said he spoke with him and he said he was ok.

OTOH, players always say they are ok. The knight in the Monte Python sketch " it's only a flesh wound ".

I think Singer is faster and more elusive than Fredrickson and the most likely to be added if Wilson is indeed out.

As far as the injury to Ceresna. Someone mentioned he was groggy. I didn't see the injury so it could have been an overheat situation or a concussion issue as well.

We did have an extra import DL when we added Reese and Fletcher. It would be nice to know the status of Dixon. He could be gone for an extended time or back practising this week. Same for Schmekel or even Kornelson. Either would allow a ratio change from the extra DT even if that was just a sub for Ceresna.

I guess we'll have to wait until we see the IR report after 1st practice next week.

With the stats, record and eye test of our defence as a whole this season, currently sitting at 33% winning record after 17% of the season, as I said before we are trending to surrender a modern day CFL record against for rushing yards against, all while each one of VAJ, Bo and Cofaj each systematically dissecting our secondary in the passing game.

I see no reason BO doesn't do even better this game with them being at home. Look what he did to us in our house, the only reason he didn't have a career day, was due to them backing off and going to the run Bo laid 287 and 3 td's passing even after backing off, 233 of that was before the half, and they added 168 yards rushing all while also hanging 37 on us in our house for our home opener in front of a sell out crowd.....

We have seen enough of our 2026 defence to say it is not good enough to compete, we can't say it was one game or an anomaly, or one player or scheme, no it is a consistent pattern of very poor play. From fundamentals like tackling, to lack of hustle to the ball, to clear confusion on assignments and blown coverages its just not good enough....

I really see us a 6-8 win team this year unless something seismic changes in our defence...
