Title: 2026 CFL Schedule Planned Release
Post by: ModAdmin on November 24, 2025, 08:55:38 PM
CFL plans to release the 2026 schedule on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.  Stay tuned.

Please, this time gives us the 2 extra games against the weakest in the W instead of the strongest like '25!  Of course, who the heck knows who that will be ahead of time!  I thought the extra game vs '24-suckage CGY in '25 was going to be great... in reality, not so much.

The worst case is if there's no 1 or 2 teams that are "weak" in the W.

Knowing the league, we're gonna place Sask, BC and Montreal 3x each.

We can't play ourselves. At least we will have a back-up/ starter who can pass from the pocket and run when he has to.  Sign those two receivers also. Perfect slots.

Well, we won't have to worry about one of those... the 3X teams are always in your own division -- and there's usually only 2 teams with 3X games.  (Unless there's something wacky forced by the World Cup black out dates.)

It should be BC and Edmonton for 3, as we played Calgary and Sask for 3 this year.

Unfortunately they don't plan it that way

Don't we play the Riders 3 times every year?

Hope we do this year, they will be the Bombers litmus test, can't beat them in the regular season unlikely to do so in the playoffs.

Since moving back to the West Division in 2014, they've played the Roughriders three times in every season except for 2016 and the abbreviated 2021 season.

It's an attendance boost for both teams. No reason not to.

The best rivalry in the CFL.

No, it varies.  I'm not sure how the 3X teams are picked each year.  Maybe it's whatever fits into the schedule the best (i.e. semi-random).

What I would like to see is the league make sure that the 3X teams games are space out a ton (per team).  Our 3X SSK and CGY games last season were all within like a month -- it doesn't allow you to "get lucky" getting a team when they suck as well as when they are good.  We got CGY when they were great instead of later in the season when they sucked -- one of those games should have been late season to even things out.

I don't!  Load me up with weak teams in reg season please!  Worry about the good teams come post-season.  SSK scored a ton of wins against weaker teams in '25, and got good teams when they were at their weakest.  Sometimes you have to be lucky to be good.

I'm less concerned about who we play when and more concerned about how this schedule fits into my life lol.

I was annoyed that we only had 1 July home game last year and in turn had an extra fall game. If I had control, I'd hope for:

2x June
2x July
2x August
2x Sept (BB + one 2 weeks later)
1x Oct (Thanksgiving weekend would be cool and we never seen to get it)

Byes on long weekends would be great  8) lol but that's just me

When both pre-season games are against Sask. 3 additional games seems too much.

As for not playing the better teams when they're playing well during the season, I find that leads to false expectations, with the team and fans believing they're better than they are, which is what happened in 2023 and 2024 when they ran into better teams in the Grey Cup.

Hopefully the Toronto "home game" is in the summer.

Maybe they will have their 2 games in back to back weeks and the Argos just stay here for a week.

Yeah, I don't really care how many times we play which teams. You never know who's going to be good at what point of the season.

What I would like is if our opponents were spread out a bit more. We played both our games against BC in our first two games and never again. We only played like 3 different teams in the first half of the season. It got pretty boring pretty fast.

The more summer home games, the better, obviously.

Nah, I'm fine with false expectations... because of the "any given Sunday" rule.  Just get to the cup, where anything can happen.  I'd rather get to the cup with false expectations than be out in a SF with true ones.

That's what I said!  Our BC and 3X games were really badly scheduled, with no spacing:

BC: week 2 & 3
CGY: week 5 & 7 & 10
SSK: week 13 & 14 & 20

The EDM games were more nicely spaced.  They should all be like that.  It gives you a better feel for how you match up against any one team over the whole year, through the ups & downs of both teams.

Problem is the last few years the Bombers tend to stand pat when they think they're the top dog, while other teams continue to improve their roster throughout the season. I'd like to see a comparison of the number of players the Riders brought in this year vs. the Bombers.

We Should not be playing Riders 3 times every year just because attendance is better.

It should rotate between the 5 teams in the West equally who plays who 3x.

And a 2 game series with Riders makes Labour/Banjo have more stakes for season series implications when we play them 2x in a season

I'm pretty sure SSK was in full on "puzzle piece" mode in FA25.  They were like us 5 seasons ago -- so close, just needing the last couple of pieces to be the best.  Thus, I bet their FA pickups were few, but impactful.

SSK's only goal was beating a WPG-beating team & scheme in '25.  And they succeeded.  Now it's our turn to build a SSK-beating team & scheme.  The Trevor dink & dunk is very vulnerable.  Spend all of FA forward solving that problem.  And how to stop that OL & Liver King.  Basically we need to do what SSK did when solving the WPG OL/AH/Brady problem.

Oh ya, and let's make that a problem again... by getting a top run-block OL.  No one feared our run game in '25.
