Grey Cup week is a month a way.
Did everyone get their 3-Day Concert Series & Team Party Pass?
I noticed they are now sold out.
NOOOOOO!!!!!

Yeah, some people are going to be out of luck.
TD Manitoba used to have separate tix, now they are included in the party pass.
Same with Spirit of Edmonton. They used to do their own thing and were a cheaper alternative to the other team parties.
This year they are sharing a room with the Lions Den and are also included in the party pass.
Pubs downtown would be smart to promote themselves as unofficial party team headquarters. Lots of people are going to looking for a place to drink.

If it's normal tickets like for games, there will be an aftermarket for these things. Stubhub, etc.
And if / as soon as WPG is eliminated, a whackton of everything will be up on aftermarket! So no worries jayrock, should your beloved Riders be playing in the cup!
Does anyone know what the VIP TD Maniotba social offers that the TD Manitoba that's included in the 3 day pass doesnt?
Why is this the first I'm hearing about the festivities? And now stuff is sold out?
I bought my passes the day they went on sale.
Team Parties are a blast!

Grey Cup Festival adds limited party pass inventory following sellout, CFL fan backlash
By John Hodge -October 15, 2025
The Grey Cup Festival has put extra party passes up for sale following online backlash from longtime CFL fans who were momentarily left out in the cold.
Many diehard supporters took to social media to express their frustration about missing out on the chance to buy three-day Grey Cup Festival party passes, which allow guests to enter the concert series and team parties that will run Thursday, November 13 through Saturday, November 15 in Winnipeg.
Multiple fans who travel to Grey Cup annually reached out to 3DownNation indicating that they would cancel their trips if they were unable to procure party passes.
Rhéanne Marcoux, the vice-president of marketing and communications for this year's Grey Cup, told 3DownNation on Wednesday that new inventory was created after working with the appropriate partners, although it's "super limited" in quantity. She also indicated that the Festival has been working with fans who reached out looking for tickets after the original inventory sold out.
According to Marcoux, the number of Festival tickets is "consistent" with past years, attributing the early sell-out to "incredible demand." Festival tickets went on sale to the public in July after the majority of passes were sold during pre-sales for CFL season ticket holders and those who purchased Grey Cup tickets.
For fans unable to purchase party passes, there will be an outdoor social located outside the convention centre in Winnipeg that can be attended free of charge. There are also limited tickets available for several events on Friday, November 14, including the Brad Paisley concert and CFL Alumni Association luncheon. Tickets for the CFL Awards show, which will be held on Thursday, November 13, go on sale next week.

As a season ticket member, I received another email today for an invite to the VIP TD Manitoba social.
Has anyone bought tickets to this event yet?
I'm still curious as to why they are charging 90 bucks a ticket.
They havent provided much details other than "enjoy complimentary snacks, your first drink on us, and fantastic live entertainment that'll get you on your feet and onto the dance floor."

There's not much else to say about it. It's a social. Except this one will try and sell you stuff.
They charge $90 because it's Grey Cup and they can.

Counter-point, it's a 100 bucks for a 3 day pass which includes 3 concerts, all the team parties and 2 TD Manitobas.
I dont care about spending the 90 bucks but I would like to know what we get for it.
This is something I see the Riders doing to their fans, thinking that the fans will buy no questions asked.

Almost feels like it should be part of the season ticket holder package in a Grey Cup year.

The club ain't in the mood to give anything of real "value" away to anyone. I figured they'll be lined up to make around $15 mil profit minimum in 2025. STH really get nothing in return aside than forced to commit for 2 more years for a $100 discount on your GC ticket.
I won't be going to anything other than the game. The parties are fun but the costs are not worth it to me. I'm disappointed in the club. Whatever.

Or discounted at the very least. Making an option to add the social ticket to the STH package for $50 seems like a good incentive.

That's disappointing to hear. You figure they'd do an MPI type discount, whereby the longer who've held seasons tickets the greater the discount. But I guess, they must figure through past GC sales, the out of town crowd makes up a good portion of the gate and they'll pay anything. The discount to long term ST holders would have been a nice touch that would have went a long way for PR amongst the local football community. But I guess......
I find this interesting... Every year at the Grey Cup the Commissioner holds a state of the league for the fans...
This year's event was listed on the Festival website last week but now has disappeared.
So what's happening? Has the league cancelled the event? Are they changing venues?
This is a description of the event that was to take place:

Maybe Johnston doesn't want any pies in the face or unceasing boos?
My guess is the commish is a chicken.
Maybe the food court can't handle how ever many angry fans will show up. At least they'd be sober at that hour.

I wonder how visible Johnston will be during Grey Cup week. At least in the NHL, Bettman has Daly to fill in his place at events.
I think its a mistake not to do it, but maybe they've had enough backlash from fans that they know this will be an ugly ambush on the Commissioner. To not have this event will be a very bad look on the league.
No Frills was giving away a ton of GC Festival brochures at the entrance. That was nice to see.

Yeah, I was in the Bomber store today and they had them as well.
Interesting, that in the last 10 years Hamilton has been the only team to host the Grey Cup and actually make it to the Grey Cup final. They lost that game to Winnipeg.
Riders hosted and won the Grey Cup in 2013.
Quote from: Ridermania on November 04, 2025, 11:43:18 AMRiders hosted and won the Grey Cup in 2013.
Toronto hosted in 2012 and won, BC in 2011 and won. But, in the case of the Riders they went all in to win in 2013 at home and pretty much destroyed there team for years after that. It was also the last time they appeared in a GC. I think teams over the last 10 years have gotten smarter.
Will they have rye bread, kube and cheese cubes at the social at midnight? With pickles and flourescent yellow mustard?
If SSK is in the cup, there is going to be a massive Rider presence. Even if they aren't, you can bet a lot have already made plans to come.
Can you imagine the Blue and Gold faction vs. Green faction, with neither in the final? Would be weird...
If the Bombers had been in, I'm probably all over the festivities. Unfortunately, I don't drink, not much of a party guy, so I won't be there, or at the game.
Have fun everyone.
CFL Awards on CFL+ Thursday night. Vaval won both of his awards.
Took the kids to the street festival tonight. The UofW stuff, on Spence and in the building right there. Pretty sparsely attended right now. But that's pretty normal for Thu as most travelers won't arrive until Fri or Sat.
Saw WPG, SSK and CGY jerseys, and one MTL gear guy. Not much else yet, but I'm sure they'll come soon.
The street portion is a bit leaner than all the stuff they had in BC last year, and maybe less than '23 in HAM too. But the inside part is amazing! They really went all out. The entire building has been turfed over and activites/games are everywhere -- really packed in there. I'd say there's twice as much stuff as was inside in BC. Lots of stuff for kids to try, as well as enough to keep youth/adults interested too. The turf feels great -- is that the old IGF turf? :D
The bouncy castles were "just" the ones from the PAS games, but separated into different areas. Kids loved it. Not as big as the "world's biggest bouncy castle" setup in BC last year, but my kids didn't even notice. These ones are blue (and gold) so they are better!
A shout out to the volunteers: they are awesome. Really top notch. Some in BC were iffy. In WPG they are basically all the nice ladies that are often the fan ambassadors at PAS games. They were great with my kids, and chatty with daddy. Super A+ to all of them. WPG for some reason always has the best volunteers.
I'll be going back tomorrow, as we only had under 2 hours tonight. The weather is still good. Everyone should be encouraging families to head out there. No excuse! These things are always underutilized for the amount of effort put in. And it's all FREE!
Quote from: Tecno on November 14, 2025, 04:10:16 AMThe turf feels great -- is that the old IGF turf? :D
Hasn't the turf been there over 10 years? They had the 2015 Grey Cup family activities in there and also the 2018 combine did too. It did feel good though. Like new.
Quote from: Tecno on November 14, 2025, 04:10:16 AMA shout out to the volunteers: they are awesome.
Amen to this. Friendly and helpful.
Back at the festival today (Friday). Much busier -- maybe 4X vs Thurs -- but still tons of open space and capacity. People, show up!!
The fireworks at 7:30 was aaaaamazing. They had it off the top of 3 buildings, all around that square in front of U of W on Portage. They did 4-5 songs and had the fireworks synced up to them. The Ring of Fire was awesome!!
People driving down Portage right in front at that time did a good job not crashing while doing the looky-loo. I'd say at the time way more people were inside than out, so tons of people missed it. Everyone in WPG not there, especially if you have kids, really missed out. GCF (& WM?) went all out on this one.
You can't beat the weather for the last 2 hours of the festival, as the rain stopped, and it was balmy enough to have the jacket open. The inside was probably the busiest part, but still no more than 1-3 min wait to do any one activity (bouncy castles being the longest).
The long-snapping stations gave up on snapping and were just having people throw the ball. LOL. My son insisted on long-snapping. Turns out he's a natural! Might have to work on developing that!
The DJ closing the night outside was amazing. Dude is doing hardcore house music all night then starts playing the violin to the beatz! Got the small crowd revved up when he did that. Awesome. Dude looks like Charles Leclerc.
On the adult side of things, which my kids make impossible, my STH lady friend got to meet & selfie with Willie J and Tait at some event! She's living the dream!
A few more Green fans tonight. And some HAM fans (they travel well). Still not seeing much else. No sign of MTL, OTT, TOR, BC, EDM. Probably better odds at the adult & pay venues.
Great job GCF organizers and WM!

Ah, possibly! I didn't know WPG had an indoor football/soccer size venue with actual turf, let alone at the U of W! It is legit turf, with the little black marbles. Very nice atmosphere for a GC festival.

I went to the festival all 3 days/nights.
I thought it was well organized at the Convention Centre.
The best thing was you were allowed to walk around with a drink throughout the buildings. It made it feel like one big social.
TD Manitoba was busy on Friday but the croud was smaller yesterday. Because TD MB was part of the part pass access most people decided to skip it and arrived at the Convention Centre later in the evening.
The Reklaws was jammed packed last night and was a great show. Also saw The Watchmen and Adam Doyle. They were great aswell, just with smaller crowds.
There were no lines are the party rooms which meant your could freely cruise from room to room.
They could have probably sold more Friday single day passes as it wasn't as busy as last night. Thursday wasn't sold out as they still have single day passes available. However they weren't listed on the ticketmaster website so I am sure lots of people didn't know they were still available.

Mmm Ockotoberfest eh? Kinky.
The kid-friendly side of the festival was great. I'd say my family spent 9 hours total at it over the 3 days? I thanked every volunteer I could on my way out Fri. Some of them looked dead tired and ready for it to all be over! :D
Oh ya, and the fireworks were A+++. Anyone who missed them (which is a ton of people based on attendance) really missed out. Totally worth going just for that.
