Just rewatched that missed field goal that Pimpleton took back for a TD.
Here's who we had on the field for that play:
65,96,95,69,94,47,45,42,44,49,14,18.
Alot of beef, not much speed.
No wonder Pimpleton went by them like they were standing still.

47 must have been guarding the far side of the field. 44 was right there but was being badly held & IB'd.
By definition long FGs will have a lot of beef.
Even if we have a burner (Vaval?) standing back as a final "safety", who says he doesn't get washed by the attendant blocking?
I've seen how we handle missed FGs before (even ones that weren't returned). The plan clearly is to have a wide, slightly sparse, wall right at the goal line right at the start of the return. The idea is to dissuade the return or have a gunner like Fatboi make an immediate lunge.
We don't design it at all for a mid-field stop, though we do have the edges buckling a bit to get the sideline tackle. Let's hand it to OTT, their scheme and sideline blocking was very well planned and executed.
