Title: Good,Bad and Ugly
Post by: 55 Stick Car on August 02, 2025, 04:02:51 AM
Don't think we have had one this year. So here it goes...

Good:

Greg Vaval- 2 great returns for TD's. 1 punt,1 K.O.
Willie Jefferson- Defensive Player of the week!
Tony Jones- Broke the back of the Argos with that Int.
Nic Demski- Consistent as always.
That defensive line.
Mike O'Shea challenges. 3 for 3
ST coverage on Janarion Grant.

Bad:

Bomber penalties.
Missed tackles.
Too many interceptions.
Long ball coverage.

Ugly:

That fourth quarter kickoff fumble.
Play calling on that late 4th quarter drive. So Bad. We needed a F.G.
Uncharacteristic penalties.
Long ball coverage.

Good:
D played great, especially Willy!
Vaval on returns

Bad:
Let Tor stay in a game they had no business being in

Ugly:
Certain plays/calls, throws by Strev.  He has to be better plain & simple
Cooley messing up on returns

What happened to The Paw?  He used start these threads and then he stopped.  Did anyone ever confirm if he passed away?

Our head coach is not thinking straight. First he should of kicked a field goal 3rd and 1 but he got lucky and made a first down. Then why pass on on first run it kill the clock , this isn't no 8 behind center is 17. He isn't a qb

Getting that 1st should have sealed it. The throw was caught by Demski & inbounds. I think the next play was the pick in the endzone? THAT was stupid. Not the others.

What is with the OC the Bombers have, dont they know how to run anything except up the gut?

Honestly, you'd think with him being the old RB coach he'd want to run and use Brady more.  It's so puzzling.

I personally think Streveler called that on his own...but I could be wrong.

The secondary is HORRID.

Streveler cannot be a regular series Qb.

If that was the called play by Jason Hogan - well, that is your mulligan right there, JH.  You don't get another for this round.

Seriously - you just got away with gambling on 3rd and more than 1 yard with less than 3 minutes left and needing any score to put it further out of reach, and you follow that gamble win with an attempted TD pass instead of taking time off the clock by running a couple plays and grabbing the easy 3?

I can't believe Osh liked that.

Because Brady is an up the gut power back, and our OL packages have always been setup this way.

Brady doesn't have a ton of speed, and usually, but not always, the outside runs are more successful if you have speed.  AH33 didn't run outside the box much either, unless he saw something in particular.

Cooley can give you some outside runs, and I'd hope we'll see some of that when he's dressed.

What we really need is the top notch horses on OL who can punch the holes through the front 7.  Kinda like we used to have >2 seasons ago.  Guys like Yoshi, Desjar, Couture, etc.  Sigh.

Ugly but made into the quote of the series:

The Bombers are community-owned, but in these past two games, they've been owned by Damonte Coxie.

Good:

- A win is a win
- Vaval showing why we kept giving him opportunities, stealing the game for us
- Willie reminding us he exists
- Person looks good
- General DL note: the 3 import version looked very effective
- Demski always a bright spot

Bad:

- Wow. Our offence cannot move the ball right now
- More injuries
- More turnovers
- Taking out Peterson for Cooley, only playing Cooley on teams which he's never done before. Easy opportunity to throw Mitchell there and not intentionally sink your team.

Ugly:

- Turnovers can be said twice (or three times if you want to match the number of turnovers from Friday)
- The 4th Q interception in the endzone; run the ball, kick a FG.

I would add to the Good, the play of our STs. Shutting down Grant all night. But, then again teams have been pretty good since Miller took over.

Good
ST and D play, especially Vaval and Willie

Bad
Overall DB play, letting Coxie run wild.

Ugly
Hate to say, but Streveler.  Culminating in that INT in the EZ where he fixated on the read and made zero attempt to come off it, and threw it SEEING the DB had position.  In a one score game.  In FG range.

A QB with an NFL pension and a GC ring CANNOT make that mistake.  Ever.
