Title: The Way of O’Shea
Post by: Zach Schnitzer on October 03, 2024, 02:39:30 AM
My take on how Osh has turned around the 2024 Blue Bombers.

That's a great read !!
We have certainly been watching a legend in front of our eyes.

The ol' Muhammad Ali rope-a-dope! 😉 never lost faith!

Not sure I can recall the bombers holding tie breakers over EVERY west team going way back. Would have helped them in 1977 I believe when there was a three way tie for first place in the west.

I've said it before I'll say it again he is very Mike Tomlin like. Hope he does not suffer the Tomlin "what have you done for me lately" trend. If he continues to attract talent then all the best.

He has been outstanding at delivering the right overall message and that is winning.

Maybe we can get Jamarion back next year?  :D

Our team is a mirror of MOS himself--blue collar, humble, disciplined, hyper competitive and fight to the bitter end. MOS is all about the team, treats everyone the same regardless of their stature with the team and that is why we have such a tight clubhouse, that is unphased by adversity. All they know what to do is complete hard to the sound of the whistle.

Tomlin is an interesting comparison! Though Osh always looks neutral, Tomlin angry lol

Really? Seems pretty content under all circumstances like MOS.

I actually noticed last game how little the bombers celebrate plays compared to a lot of teams. Specifically the Nichols interception, just a few fist bumps and back pats and the D jogged off the field like nothing happened.

They definitely "act like they've been there" and can tell they all the expectations and standards from the coaching staff. Great post Zach

That's part of the O'Shea discipline, don't get too high or too low, and celebrate your teammates, not your own accomplishments.

Think they are on a mission this season especially after the poor start to the season. Grey Cup now or bust after disappointments the last two seasons. Just getting there not enough. Need to bring hardware home this season as a few of the old timers may never see the field again after this season. Celebrations can occur AFTER winning your last game of the season!! :)

I miss the Hardrick hop -- done by everyone, not just Hardrick.  They got rid of that in covid, legal problems, yada yada.

I say if you score in the crazy zone, go up there and get nuts with those shirtless crazies.

O'Shea must be a BIG FAN of the Mandalorian Star Wars streaming series...their catch phrase for the Mandalorian people is THIS IS THE WAY!! ;) :D Or some other species on the show.....I HAVE SPOKEN!! O'Shea does not have to yell to get attention....he just speaks and they all listen! :D

THIS IS THE MANITOBA MAFIA WAY! :D ;)
