Not a food name but former Blue Bombers RB Bloi-Dei Dorzon qualifies as the CFL chef.

He is a competitive chef on Food Network under the name Tobias Dorzon.

"Huncho" just got eliminated (top 8 ) in the 2024 Tournament of Champions. He finished final 4 in 2022.

Several CFL players got their own food tie-ins over the years, from Andy Fantuz's "Fantuz Flakes" to Darian Durant's "Dari-Os" to Weston Dressler's "All-Dressler Chips."

Also Chip Garber, former assistant coach with the Ti-Cats.

All the chip talk reminded me of Ricky Ray with the nickname Frito Ray. Nickname given as he was driving a Lays chip truck prior to becoming one of the all time great CFL QBs.

They were pretty good chips, too.

These chips were bomb.

Nick Moore also had salt and pepper chips in I think 2014?

You're right! Nick's Quick Score Chips: https://www.fcl.crs/news-reports/news/article/Nicks-Chips-headline-expanded-Co-op-Bombers-partnership

Also pretty tasty from what I can remember. As if that was ten years ago.

I go through daily existential crises when I'm constantly reminded things that were "a few years ago" actually took place 10-15 years ago!!

Matty "Barbeque" Dunigan

Doug "Flutie Flakes" Flutie - This was when he went back to the NFL after his CFL stint, but I'm grandfathering this in for the CFL as he is one the best players ever to be in our league! :)

Former Stamps Mike Palumbo, Tony Spoletini and Tony's cousin Tom Spoletini. Started the famous sausage chain Spolumbo's in Calgary after they all retired from the Stamps. Going strong today still after 30 years! "You like it da pizza, pasta or Italian sausage? Make us an offer we can't refuse! I want a Cannoli" ;)

Julius Caesar Watts Jr - QB with Ottawa in the early 80's. Almost upset the Eskimos in 1981 GC which would have been the biggest upset in Grey Cup history! Tony Gabriel shafted on a DUAL pass interference call late in the game after a big long yardage catch puts Ottawa in field goal range and could go up by 3 or 6 points. Hated those late 70's-early 80's Edmonton teams with a passion as prevented Bombers from a few Cup appearances in the early 80's. Bombers also shafted in 1980 western final with a VERY iffy roughing the passer call on John Helton vs Warren Moon late in the game. Game was still tied then and Edmonton kicks winning field goal with little time left. Another shaft job two years in a row that favours Edmonton and tricky dicky Edmonton GM Norm Kimball! :D

Chuck "Steak" Assmann! :D

Mike "Pinball" cLEMONS

"Sugarfoot" Anderson

"The Big Tuna", Calgary's Bruce Covernton

Herm "Ham Hands" Harrison

Jackie "Spaghetti-Legs" Parker

Not a player, but Cat's cheerleader "Pigskin Pete"! :)

Jerry "Soupy" Campbell

Hank "The Shank Steak" Ilesic

Lester "Rubber Duck" Brown - QB prospect of Riders in 1980, but flamed out

Nickname for a whole team...."Jolly Green Giants" - love those canned peas, corn and green beans!! :)

Ed "Cookie" Gilchrist

Haha, that one's a stretch!

If we're doing weird nicknames, etc, then add in Cody "Jesus Sprinkles" Fajardo.  We need some desserts on the team  ;D  ;D
