Title: #86 receiver Agudosi
Post by: guyinfla89 on August 21, 2022, 11:59:56 PM
Does anyone know what's happening with #86 Agudosi?  At the last Calgary home game, about a month ago he was spectacular.  But, he's disappeared from the lineup,  Is he stil with WBB or what?

He was injured the next game.

This was his last tweet:

Thank you Bomber fans for all the well wishes and prayers. It?s going to be a journey back but I?m glad I got to experience playing in front of the best fans ever. #ForTheW

He is currently on the Bombers 6 game injured list.

Hopefully not a one game Wonder.

I doubt very much that he is only a flash in the pan...if we had him alongside a healthy Ellingson, Schoen, Demski, Bailey and Wolitarsky we'd be tough to defend.   He has all the tools.....height, speed, hands and he fights hard for the ball.   I can hardly wait for him to return and hope his injury isn't a lingering one.....

I am still amazed at what Schoen has shown so far.  And Ellingson has shown that he can still play at a high level.  Both great pickups for the Bombers.  And when Demski is fully healthy he is dynamite.  Wolitarsky is a great tough receiver that is a good big target as well.  Agudosi and Bailey are both good big targets that are hard to defend against.

It would be nice for him to get healthy in case we have another injury at receiver. At the moment, he'd be hard pressed to be activated ( when healthy ) except as a possible DI. That said we aren't really using McCrae in his DI role either.

I'm pretty skeptical that we ever see him again.

The frequent injury history doesn't help his chances but I think he survives 2022 one way or another. That might mean IR or PR as emergency depth.

If this season is over for him, I think we'll see him at TC next spring all the same. Can't hurt to keep him around if possible.

Hopefully he gets healthy this season.  His last outing should earn him another shot. If that happens we would need to sit a receiver down.  Bailey??

If Bailey can breathe, he's on the AR.

It would have to be McCrae or an injury that would allow him back on the AR...

More than likely he could replace McCrae as a DI on the game day roster. Seriously doubt we'd drop a starting receiver when only Grant is a back up. OTOH we have 3 RB's on the roster so depth is less of an issue unless there is an injury somewhere in the future.

Grant is a great kick returner but has obvious skills lacking as a receiver.  McRae hasn't shown us anything yet.  Hopefully #86 can get back.

Whether or not Agudosi returns will be entirely up to how well he recovers, and whether he wants to come back. The Bombers will almost certainly try to re-sign him if he is healthy.

Not necessarily. He'd be looking at a probable PR spot for the 3rd year. Even if he recovers fully, does the team want to take that direction on a player that has had multiple injuries? In 2023 we might see Ellingson retire and we might see Schoen take another shot in the NFL.

All of those things come into play.

Didn't Ellingson sign a 2 year deal? Would hope he can come back.
Bailey/Agu are not young guys anymore, Demski is only 1 year older.

If we did lose Elligson and Schoen I think we'd need someone like Agudosi who knows the team.
I'd guess Schoen needs at least 2 years of good stats before NFL teams look at him.

I think Ellingson is a two year.
Demski needs a new deal I think.
Schoen regardless of his contract could be gone next year.
Agudosi needs a new deal to but a bunch of moving parts for that occurrence.
Bailey is not that old is he?

Bailey is 29 years old, Ellingson 33. Bailey has lots of time left, Ellingson 1-2 years

I think it's 3-peat or bust for the team this year. I am not exactly concerned about next year country. That is for CRyder fans! ;)  Could be a lot of changes come next season more so than years past I sense (retirements, not resigned due to cap reasons, NFL tryouts, etc). A 3-peat in this cap era in ANY league is almost impossible, so run with it for this season. This would all make up for those sad sack Joe Mack and TJ Rubley/Reinbold years! ;) :D 2001 GC choke still will always bother me though.

Wow, you're digging way back to revive this thread!  I don't think Agudosi is even remotely on our radar right now.  So many other Rs couch-sitting, too.

With the addition of Whitehead, I disagree.

Is Agudosi even playing at the moment?

Agudosi is not on any roster.  I am sure that if the Mafia had any interest in him, he would have been here by now.  Same in Toronto.  As a 30 year old oft injured American WR, not sure there would be much interest...

Wikipedia still shows him as an Argonaut but that's undoubtedly because his page hasn't been updated.

CFL.CA shows him twice, neither with a club affiliation. I assume he has moved on from football.

I play poker with Cameron Meredith regulary, and occasionally bug him about a comeback with the Bombers.  But he seems quite happy to stay retired at the young age of 31.  Sometimes the injuries catch up and rehab gets worse after every one, so even if you are 100% healthy now, one play is all it takes to sideline you for a year or longer.
