Well, I still believe that CP91 should develop into a solid #2 C.  His puck handling skills and vision are next level, he needs a little more seasoning to get the game to slow down, and he needs a little more conditioning to give him the size/frame to battle, especially in the face off circle and in front of the net.

With the team healthy, I don't think we need any help, top 6 or bottom 6, D surprisingly have them at the top of the league in many stats, so I'm not sure how much tinkering we need.  Chevy has been able to bring in contributing players with character in the past, so there's that.  If he can find the right fit, for the ice and the room, I think we can move some prospects and picks, but it has to be right.

But, at this time CP91 is not a top 2 C. So, I believe the Jets will make a move.

I also still have hope that Perfetti will turn into a 2C, but he certainly isn't now and while I love Namestnikov, the fact that he's our 2C now and had to be 1C in Scheif's absence speaks volumes about how shallow our centre pool is.

We are in win-now mode, not developing players for maybe taking a run in 2027. There is a time and buy and a time to sell, and this is time to buy. I'm happy to give up a lot in order to get a Paul Stastny for a playoff run and for Chevy to show us he fully intends to win the Stanley Cup this June.

So, the question is, who is available, are they better than what we have, do they fit in the room, rental or long term, and what will they cost.

Is Lindholm an upgrade with his current performance level?

How much cap space do we have to bring someone in?  Who can we part with to make space?

I'm not trying to be rude, but it doesn't matter what you feel. The Jets staff are not playing Perfetti at centre. They wouldn't do that unless they felt he was better in the wing.

As blue_or_die points out, one injury has us playing everyone completely out of their comfort zones and our scoring has completely dried up. No team is going to enter and survive the play-offs with everyone healthy. You need depth and we do not have it.

In regards to your other queries, we actually have more available cap space to make a move than any other competitive team. We are is great position to make an addition.

Funny... our top scorer was out for a number of games, and we went on a winning streak.

We've had a lot of injuries this year, and are atop the league.

We have depth, and the ability to weather adversity.

A tweak of the roster, sure.  But we have a lot of young stars that are stepping up...

Well yeah, we wouldn't be contenders if we weren't able to play a full team game and weather the KFC injury. Unlike that period though, we were very exposed without Scheif and having issues with Vilardi and Morrissey last week and I think it's clear we need even more if we are going to keep pace.

We are obviously a very good team but it's going to take more to still be playing in June, largely because other contenders will also be making moves to get even better and get the edge to win 16 games in 2 months. At the very least, we make a move just to keep up, nevermind get an edge. I'd argue we need a piece not just for a playoff bolster, but to carry us for a good portion of the remaining regular season as we are going to have slumps and other injuries we will need to weather. Other teams are glaring their high beems in our mirrors and any misstep could cost us big time in the standings.

a real decent Top 6 center, E. Lindholm goes to the Canucks for Kuzmenko, prospects  and draft picks.

If the Canucks add a decent dman and injuries are not upsetting then I believe the Jets are in trouble in playoffs.

Help Chevy ....... do your magic

Not sure I agree that trade has any bearing on the Jets' playoff aspirations outside of a potential WCF matchup. They gave up quite a bit for a rental, too.

I do agree that Cheveldayoff needs to work his magic and bolster the roster, though. A 2C is imperative, IMO.

With all the names out there, and the prices being paid, I'm hoping Chevy goes off the menu and finds that Stasny type deal that no one expects...

Personally am thrilled with the potential improvement the team makes immediately.

Faceoff help, presently on 725 puck drops has a 55% win ratio,.
Should be a decent addition to PP, which as been using Namestnikov and Iafallo , not to mention a smart center for our 2nd line
